President

  • Reshika Sai Devarajan (she/her)
  • Health Science
  • Class of 2025

Reshika Sai is a third-year health science major with a passion for science and a penchant for writing. NU Sci offered the perfect fusion of her interests, bridging the gap between her academic pursuits and creative expression. She has been an active member of the magazine since her first year and is now thrilled to serve as the magazine’s president. When she’s not delving into the mysteries of the human body within the pages of her textbooks, you can often find her engrossed in reading, writing, or experimenting in the kitchen. Reshika Sai is enthusiastic about her continued journey with NU Sci and is eager to foster a strong sense of community within the magazine this academic year. Her goal is for the NU Sci team to create interdisciplinary publications that inspire curiosity and ignite intellectual discussions.

Editor-in-Chief

  • Noah Haggerty (he/him)
  • Applied Physics
  • Class of 2024

In his writing, Noah explores the cutting edge of physics; the connections between science, environmentalism, and the outdoors; the Northeastern science research community; and the practice of science and science communication. He works to make NU Sci a space for budding researchers and communicators to find their voices as science storytellers. When he’s not typing away behind a computer screen, Noah enjoys climbing, hiking, and escaping into nature any way he can. After undergrad, he hopes to continue working to make science accessible to everyone and exploring the intersection of scientific research and communication.

Treasurer

  • Nethra Iyer (she/her)
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Class of 2024

Nethra has been involved in NU Sci since her freshman year as a writer, editor, and now treasurer. NU Sci is one of her favorite groups of people because of how passionate and sweet everyone is. In her free time, she loves to read (open to any recommendations), walk down Newbury, try various restaurants around Boston, and listen to music (mainly Taylor Swift). Her favorite scientist is Alan Turing.

Head of Communications

  • Lily Garrett (she/her)

  • Class of 2025

Lily is from the beautiful Pacific Northwest and spent most of her life on a lake right outside Portland, Oregon. She loves to wake surf, ski, run, cook, and paint. She is also passionate about science and medicine, and hopes to be a physician one day.

Co-Head of Web & Software

  • Raisa Bhuiyan (she/her)
  • Computer Science & Math
  • Class of 2025

Raisa is a third-year Computer Science and Math major (hoping for a minor in cinema studies) who has always been interested in technology and science. Raisa loves being a member of NU Sci because she can learn about various scientific disciplines while working on the website to ensure everyone can learn the same information she does. Outside of NU Sci, Raisa is passionate about television/movies–her favorite film is The Social Network–and music, especially 80s and 2000s rock. Raisa also enjoys playing board games and exploring Boston

Co-Head of Web & Software

  • Ethan Szeto (he/him)
  • Computer Science + Math
  • Class of 2026

Ethan is a second year computer science and mathematics major from New Jersey. He first found his passion for computer science designing his own websites and games online. In grade 12, he developed an interest for math, only after being mentored by Dr. Lajinian, a brilliant mathematics teacher. He now promotes education by teaching mathematics and computer science in hopes of inspiring others to change the world. In his free time, he does nature photography, collects sells, plays piano and reading books.

Co-Head of Design

  • Jasmin Patel (she/her)
  • Behavioral Neuroscience
  • Class of 2025

Jasmin explores graphic design as a tool for vibrant, bold, and truthful visual communication. Coming from a background in behavioral neuroscience studies at Northeastern University, Jasmin is highly interested in design from a human perception and experience perspective. She explores this through a minor in graphic and information design, as well as personal and professional graphic design projects. Through NU Sci, she hopes to share with you relevant and exciting scientific discoveries in an aesthetically interesting, visually interactive, and easily digestible format!

Co-Head of Design

  • Vianna Quach (she/her)
  • Pharmaceutical Science
  • Class of 2025

This is Vianna’s third year writing and designing for NU Sci. She is a junior pharmaceutical science major and — fittingly — she is currently on co-op at a pharma company. This gives Vianna a lot more time for NU Sci and other hobbies … which should hopefully of more things than napping.
